Ava's 6 & 7th months
So, I'm a little behind on Ava's monthly update. I actually took the photos and wrote the posts on her monthly birthdays, but getting them posted never happened. Here they are:
Ava's 6th month:
She is growing up so fast. Ava's currently working on sitting up, playing with her toys, and eating baby food. She's doing a little better sleeping now and I'm so thankful. This months highlights include Christmas parties, New Year's lunch at Mimi and Pawpaw's, playdates with Maren and Markus, Tracy and her 3 boys, college friend Clint, and dinner with Paige and Aunt Stephanie.
Ava's 7th month:
This month Ava made it to the ER in the middle of the night because she was having trouble breathing and had a barky cough. After 5 hours, some humidified air, and some oral steroids, they told me she had croup. All this only to find out on Tuesday at the doctor's office that she really had (and still has) RSV. She's still on the road to recovery, but she's got her smile back and for that we are thankful.
Highlights:
-She's mastered sitting and is working very hard at learning to crawl.
-Ava also said her first word this week: da-da. She's made her daddy so proud!
-weekend trip to lakehouse with family

E100 Bible Reading Challenge
Recently I attended a leadership meeting at my church and heard about the E100 Bible Reading Challenge. It is a Bible reading guide that takes you through 100 of the main stories of the Bible in chronological order. Following this guide supposedly gives the reader a pretty good basic understanding/overview of the Bible. This guide is different from most because it isn't necessarily a day by day reading plan, instead, it is a punch card that you just punch out the readings you complete as you go. I've tried the day-to-day reading plans and if I get behind, I feel great failure and usually end up quitting. So, here goes another try... Anyone up for joining me?

What I've been up to...
instead of blogging:
1. holidays
2. trying to clean up from holidays
3. starting and almost finishing my 2006-2007 family photo album (and I've only got 1 page left!)
4. dealing with a hit and wait (to see if I noticed) on my car by a lady at JG's Mother's Day Out
4. taking care of kids while Jesse was in Finland (again)
5. taking care of sick kids (Ava is still very sick)
6. all of this while trying to manage daily tasks of laundry, dishes, cooking, shopping, cleaning, Bible study, exercise, childcare, and trying to stay in touch with friends.
So, just in case anyone was wondering, that's where I've been :) I'm hoping my next post will really be worth reading. I've got a bunch of things I've been thinking about.
