Potty Training Day 3

JG made it through the night and all day today without a problem!! He fought putting a diaper on to go to bed tonight, but Jesse told him needed to stay dry 5 more nights before he can be diaper free! I'm crossing my fingers.

Togetherness

This week, everyone but me (PTL), came down with a stomach bug. Yuck! The positive is that we stayed home all week and the kids' have started to really play well together. I wouldn't go so far as to say that vomiting=sharing well, but it has definitely meant learning to play with each other well.

Potty trained?

Before JG turned 2, I started putting him on the potty. I didn't do it all the time, and I definitely didn't make him do it when he didn't want to. Then, when he started Mother's Day Out, they started taking him and he wanted to start trying more at home. The last few days, I've put him in underwear for just a few hours for him to try them out. This morning, when he woke up, he asked for his underwear, and to my amazement he stayed clean and dry all day... even through a 3 hour nap. I'm so proud of him! I'm sure our ups and downs are yet to come, but today we were victorious. (I tried to get a cute pic of him in his underwear, but he right now he screams "NO" whenever he sees me get the camera out).

Fun with the kids

A few days ago, the kids and I met my friend Cathy and 2 of her boys at a great park near our house. All the kids wanted to swing in the baby swings, and since there were only 2 swings, the kids doubled up and loved it.

Ma-ma-ma

So, she has finally said "ma-ma." Well, actually it is "ma-ma-ma". I wonder if she has added the extra "ma" since it is so hard for her to get my attention these days around all of JG's antics.

At least she is not calling me "mom" which is what JG is calling me these days. I keep telling him that my name is not "mom" but "mommy"... now he thinks it is funny to antagonize me! Anyway, I'm proud of you little Ava!

What's for Dinner?

I haven't got a clue what we are going to have for dinner. I'm out of inspiration and am kind of in a cooking rut. We are in the middle of replacing and painting all 15 interior doors in our house. I'm in charge of sanding, cleaning, taping, priming, and painting the trim. I'm looking for healthy and quick meal suggestions. For you meal planners, what are you serving at your house this week? Can we come?... kidding. Just looking for ideas and recipes.

Ava speaks (again?)

A few months ago, I posted that Ava was saying "Da-da", and she was... but now I'm not sure that she wasn't just babbling. For the last few days, I thought she was saying "JG" but I wasn't positive. Today, she said it for sure, and it was adorable. She gave him a toothy grin when he was crying after nap and sweetly called his name.

Other Ava news, she's sick again and she learned how to walk behind push toys today!
