For those of you that have toddlers, you'll understand what I mean when I say that sometimes you have to tell them not to do the same thing hundreds of times...and when they don't obey, you like to think that it is because they must not understand what it is that you are telling them.
Over the last few days, JG has taken to standing on the coffee table. I have repeatedly instructed him to sit down instead (yes, I've decided that sitting on our coffee table is acceptable). He continues to disobey. Yesterday, I saw JG making his teddy bear stand on the coffee table. Then, in his most commanding voice, he says "No, no. No standing on the table. Sit down." The bear promptly sits down. Hmmm, do you think he understands? Or does my discipline seem like fun and games? I wonder how I can get JG to be as obedient as his stuffed bear....

HA!! Um, I think he gets it. That is so funny. I've started having Silas repeat the things he's not supposed to do. It hasn't helped all that much, but I still have hopes.
That is really funny BUT scary. They really do understand us. I know that right now I often wonder what Katherine "gets" when I discipline her. Discipline is such a hard and not fun thing. Love that sin nature.
JG has such a fun personality - Andrew has never re-enacted anything like that. He does pretend play a little, but its hardly ever copying what we do to him. I know for you its not so funny, but it gave me a good giggle! I have found it to be particularly frustrating to be a mom of a toddler lately - so much discipline that goes unheeded! And they get it! They really do! Pushing their boundaries must really be fun...
